Rhapsody in Blue | JAZZ Tribute to George Gershwin - JAZZ Den Haag
Looking for a wonderful night out with friends? Book your ticket and reserve a table for the live jazz event JAZZ Rhapsody in Blue – A Tribute to George Gershwin.
George Gershwin did not walk through life; he danced through it. He was a man of perpetual motion, a charismatic extrovert with a cigar clamped between his teeth and fingers that couldn't stop tapping out rhythms on any available surface. What made George special was his complete lack of musical snobbery. He looked at the melting-pot energy of New York City and realized it needed a new kind of soundtrack. By infusing the classical tradition with the swinging rhythms of jazz, the melancholy of the blues, and the energy of ragtime, George didn't just write music - he invented the modern American sound. With Rhapsody in Blue he bridged two worlds that critics claimed could never mix. Let yourself be carried away by the warm sounds of David Lukács on saxophone and Jos Machtel on double bass, joined by their friends from the international jazz scene. With passion, virtuosity and joy in playing, they bring the magic of George Gershwin to life. The concert dates of JAZZ Rhapsody in Blue: • Friday 13 November 2026 • Friday 11 December 2026 • Friday 8 January 2027 • Friday 12 February 2027 Music starts at 20 PM. Tickets: 12,5 per person. Kitchen is open the entire evening. Invite your friends, reserve your seat and immerse yourself in an evening filled with food, drinks and unforgettable jazz. Looking forward to welcoming you at JAZZ!
