Step on Friday 20 March into the swingin’ Paris of the 1930s during our beloved Live Gypsy JAZZ Concert! This special night features gypsy jazz band leads and brilliant guitarists Jaïr Stunt and Tessa Spaaij - they will be joined by their friends from the national and international jazz scene. Gypsy jazz emerged in the 1930s in Paris within the Sinti communities. It’s a melting pot of French musette, American swing and gypsy music - and the first jazz style to emerge in Europe. The music is inspired by the famous Sinti jazz guitarist Jean “Django” Reinhardt. Reinhardt was a virtuoso player on the acoustic guitar. Together with the French jazz violinist Stéphane Grappelli, Reinhardt formed their group the Quintette du Hot Club de France. In our Gypsy JAZZ concert series we bring the 1930s gypsy jazz vibe of Paris to the historic city center of The Hague. Do not hesitate and book a ticket for this great live jazz event!
