Afrodesia is the summer session by the Rotterdam percussion/drum duo Daan Arets and Steven Brezet, in collaboration with guitarist Valentijn Bannier. These three key figures in the Dutch afro, jazz, and world music scene deliver a high-energy live experience full of grooves, improvisation, and rhythmic richness. The music is deeply rooted in the Afrobeat tradition of artists like Fela Kuti, but in the hands of this group, it takes on a fresh and contemporary character. Expect a powerful mix of West African percussion, jazzy horns, Brazilian influences, and funk.
